Our new toys that we both picked up this weekend. Whoa.
I really never thought that I would succumb to the madness that is Blackberry, but this new version that just came out made me change my mind. After previewing it in the store, watching the CNET reviews, and hearing the differences between this device and the iPhone from our friendly instore clerk, the Bold won out...hands down.
Here's a quick breakdown in case anyone else out there is interested in this lovely little device:
The speed is clarity is awesome. At 3G, we took photos (without flash) and they still came out great.
It seems to surf the web much faster than the iPhone. Download time is also quite fast.
I can check and sync my Hotmail without having to pay for an extra e-mail service - big plus for me since I use my Hotmail quite frequently over Gmail.
It's light as a feather. Ok maybe not that light, but it almost feels like it has no internal guts to it. This impressed Jon as well.
Jon loves it because it's much easier to use as a work professional in terms of checking and replying to e-mail.
That leads to my other plus - I love typing on this device much more than typing on my iPod Touch. I like using the external keyboard keys on it as opposed to typing on the iPod where I feel like I have to tap away at the keys.
And there you have it. I even managed to join Facebook over the weekend and now I'm addicted to that to. It really is a new day!
Anyone else still in awe of what happened last night and how fast it actually happened? I'm talking about our new President Elect of course. There were celebration lunches, high fives, people trying to be modest and humble...and quickly failing from the excitement of it all, and people just wandering the halls talking about last night's events in our neighborhood.
I love this picture from the NY Times. It speaks to how everyone here in Seattle is feeling right now.
P.S. What was with the Michael Bay exit music for John McCain? Very dramatic.
There's also this comment about McCain from his own family: "I'm hoping he wins, for the country's sake,”
McCain’s aunt said. “I figure it will kill him, but he's going to die
one day anyway, so he might as well do it there." Read this article here.
